Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire reclaims WBC title

Once again, the Filipino’s pride Nonito “Flash” Donaire showed the world that he is still among the “elite boxing fighters” within the industry.

Donaire knocked out his contender French fighter, Nordine Oubaali, in the fourth round. He reclaims his WBC champion title on Saturday in Los Angeles.

It’s the 20th world title fight that Donaire participated in. The 38-year-old, 118lbs, proves that age is just a number. He also broke the record for the most WBC title held by fellow Filipino boxer Gerry Peñalosa.

As of the moment, “Flash” Donaire plans to pursue his goal to acquire more world boxing titles. In such a pursuit, he will have the chance to compete with other exceptional and world-class Filipino boxers like John Riel Casimero and Michael Dasmarinas.

In the press conference, Donaire says;

“I have proven to the world that I am back, and I’m stronger than ever.”

Donaire already set his mind to end the fight in the ring in just six rounds. He, however, clarifies;

“Not because I was cocky. But because I was very confident in my ability to know exactly what I need to do in there with the strategy we’ve put together.”
